Small town life was never a thought in my mind as I grew up on Long Island, NY (a NYC suburban area) but after moving back to Connecticut (where I spent most of my college years) after my time spent on Long Island after college, I found myself to be where I was always meant to be...in a quiet, rural area with old wooden fences lining rolling fields, fields of corn that ache to be picked and the fresh scent of manure wafting into your senses after the farmers prep the fields after the harvest. I'm in my late 20s and I have been living in Connecticut for over 5 years and I work as a researcher at a large private university. In October 2006, I was married to my right-hand man in the kitchen, Kyle, who is often referenced in my blog stories. Cooking has become a central part of our life together and we enjoy spending time in the kitchen together testing new recipes or coming up with our own. Food and love. That's what our life together is about and this blog attempts to share this dynamic relationship with all of those who stop by Smells Like Home.
